What is travel massage?
Travel massage is a massage in the comfort of your own home.I will bring everything needed from the table and sheets to the music. Feel free to light your own favorite candles or set up your favorite music if you prefer. I look forward to bringing massage therapy to you and your home.
What kind of space is required for the massage?
Please have a private, quiet space that will have enough room for a standard massage table. An enclosed room is best, but a living room can work as well. It is also best if there are electrical outlets are available.
What will the massage consist of?
If you are booking an hour long massage, it is best to plan for about an hour a half of time. That will include some time for set-up and break down, as well as time for you to fill out a quick intake form. It will also give us time to discuss your goals for the massage.
Do I need to undress?
You are not required to undress for a massage, however most people do choose to undress, either completely or down to undergarments. Either is acceptable (please see below notes on draping). It is expected that you will undress in privacy, and then your massage therapist will enter the room once you are on the table and properly covered. It is also possible in some circumstances that the massage therapist can hold a sheet out in front of you so that you may undress behind the sheet, and then lay on the table. It is of utmost importance that you feel comfortable throughout the process and remain modestly covered at all times.
Do I need to have a drape?
Yes, I require draping during the session for your modesty and my professionalism. This will consist of a full body sheet minimum. I use a full body drape and undrape the specific area that I am working on at the time.
Are pets and/or kids ok?
Pets and kids being present is absolutely fine. However it is preferred that you can have a quiet space without distractions so that you can fully enjoy your massage. Of course, that may not always be possible if you have little ones to care of, and that is perfectly understandable. If you have any aggressive pets, please make sure they are locked away for the duration of the massage.
Is travel massage more expensive?
Yes, travel massage is typically going to be more expensive than going to a salon or spa. The higher rate includes travel time to your home, as well as the additional time it takes to set up and break down before and after each session., as well as carrying/lifting the supplies that are needed to give you the same luxurious experience you would get in a spa.
Do I have to tip?
Tipping is always appreciated, never expected. Not everyone has the financial ability to tip, but everyone deserves massage.
What payments do you take?
At this time, I am able to take payment by either cash, credit/debit, check, or Venmo.
Do you charge extra for appointments that are outside of the Kalamazoo/Portage area?
Yes, there is a surcharge of $10 if you are outside of my service area. I may not be able to provide services to you if you are outside of my service area, but please feel free to inquire!
